Benefits to Dirt Biking:

Let’s put things in perspective right away. The sport of dirt biking is not a sport that has to be taken
lightly. It isn’t for those who don’t like the adrenalin rush of occasional danger and fear the hospitals
and doctors, because if you flip over your bike while going down a hill, you will hurt yourself and
maybe seriously at that. If this doesn’t discourage you, maybe the fact that you will need to take out
the green-backs, because if you need some repairs, let’s just say it will cost more than a meal at
McDonald’s.

If you're reading this article however, there’s a good chance that you like dirt biking, so let’s get to the
good stuff now. I made things sound bad earlier, but it’s not as bad as it seems. Everything in life has
risks, but with risks come the rewards and benefits.

But what benefits can be so great that it’s worth all the danger? Before I tell you, I need to tell you
about what makes the motorcycle run (the engine of course). Like anything else in life, the more you
know about something, the easier it will be when you do something related to the activity. If you really
want to get into the detail and understand even more, study the mechanics of the engine. You will be
able to have a better understanding of what you'll need to repair if you have an accident.

Don’t think your on your own. Other fanatics all get together! You will be able to enjoy your hobby and
share your experiences with everyone else. Have you ever heard that it’s not 'what' you know, it’s
'who' you know? Well when you're with your new friends that have more experience than you, you can
ask them questions related to dirt biking. For example, maybe they know someone who owns a shop
and you're able to get some excellent deals by associating with them.

Now for the good stuff... You will get the best body of your life when you take the sport seriously.
You'll have a great body because you will very likely need to improve your body strength if you don’t
want to look like an idiot when you can’t control the bike because of its weight. But think of how good it
will feel to have your legs as hard as rocks or biceps that show every time you flex your arm.
You don’t have to go to a gym either, as riding a dirt-bike will tone every muscle 'naturally'.

You get a great body and you meet new friends? What can be better? Well you'll get to know more
about your passion and the benefits you might get. It will be like going back to class for your favourite
subject. You will see what to do to repair your bike, what the latest bikes on the market are etc. In
addition, there’s a chance you'll get to attend a live show of dirt biking at a great discount price.

Feel the danger, live the life of the dirt biker. You will feel the biggest rush of your life. I’m not saying
necessarily to do aerials, but push your self to the limit of your capabilities. You will discover a world
where men and machine are almost connected together.

History of Dirt Biking:

Consider this: you’re sitting in a ‘comfy’ bench, you have 12 000 friends with you, there’s the smell of
gasoline in the air, lights flashing everywhere then next thing you know the crowd goes wild as a biker
on his dirt bikes makes a 720 and lands on his wheels and makes the jump! Now that is what we would
call extreme. Can you imagine how the rider (man or woman) feels when they land this death defying
stunt? To be remembered forever, you need to try new dangerous stuff and dirt biking is just the
place to do it.

So, who do we have to thank for this incredible sport? I know you’re tempted to say he’s American but
sorry he’s Japanese (and a good businessman). You were close though because it really did start in
the U.S.A. Of course back then it wasn’t as big as it is today. In fact no big industry giant started the
way they are now. It took time like everything else. The guy opened a shop in L.A almost 60 years
ago. He tried to convince those surf boys to trade their surf boards for a dirt bike. Let’s just say
people weren’t impressed and he didn’t sell too many.

You should also know that having a motorcycle back then meant you were looked at as in an outlaw
band. It doesn’t end there; because since it wasn’t popular, there was no need for tracks either. Even
if you had a bike, you were looked at as weird, (so imagine one with a motor). But the guy had a
brilliant idea. He figured that he would use the material he had and make the best of it. This is how the
slogan of Honda got to be, and how he used those L.A girls to attract new clients, and it worked
incredibly.
